Coffee Baggers & Ostomy Gathering


Our Coffee Baggers social meetup will be this coming Saturday, April 13 from 10 to 11 a.m.

We are again getting together in The Kitchen, located in the Quil Ceda Creek Casino in Tulalip. Entirely non-smoking, complimentary valet parking, free coffee and pop. Service animals are also welcome.

On the heels of the meetup, our Monthly Gathering will take place on Monday, April 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Our featured speaker will be Dan "Dry Dock" Shockley, a retired Navy veteran who will share his remarkable journey of service, diagnosis, and advocacy. 

Following his diagnosis, Shockley became a passionate advocate for early detection and reducing the stigma associated with living with an ostomy. He emphasizes the importance of proactive medical care and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of adversity. Through his advocacy work and personal journey, Shockley serves as an inspiration, demonstrating resilience, determination, and a commitment to making a difference for others.

As usual, the gathering will be held in the Snohomish County PUD Electric Building Headquarters at 2320 California St. in Everett.

Monthly Ostomy Gathering: Psychologist

Our monthly gathering is scheduled for next Monday, March 18 at 6:30 pm.

Our featured speaker will be Dr. Sandra G. Lopez, MS., MFT., Ph.D., a local family therapist and clinical psychologist.

Dr. Lopez has been in private practice in Woodinville for over 20 years. She has a Masters of Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.

Her presentation will be:
  • Being an Ostomate, Knowing an Ostomate
  • Self caring, Care giving and the adjustments for both
She will briefly highlight the needs and adjustments that the individual person (ostomate) with a serious illness and subsequent treatment faces, and the need to self advocate and self-care.

“We (ostomate and caregiver) have a journey and a story to not only survive, but to live as best we can.
We/you are not alone.
It takes a village!”

Monthly Ostomy Gathering: StomaGenie

Because of President's Day, our monthly gathering is scheduled for Thursday, February 22 at 6:30 pm.

Our guest will be Theresa Johnson, COO & Co-Founder of Stomagienics, Inc. She'll be presenting on the StomaGenie Output Capture Cartridge, a revolutionary ostomy product born out of necessity.
